Cookie Notice

What this website stores on your device, and which third party services it uses.

The short version

This website sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics, no advertising and no social media tracking on it. That is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly rather than burying.

Because nothing non-essential is being stored on your device, there is no consent banner to click through. If that changes, this page will change with it and you will be asked before anything is set.

What this site uses

Our own cookies: none. This site sets no cookies on your device.

Your light or dark mode choice. If you use the light and dark switch at the top of the page, your browser remembers your choice in its own local storage, under the name “theme”. It holds the word light or dark and nothing else, it is never sent to us, and it is only stored because you pressed the switch. If you never press it, nothing is stored.

Google reCAPTCHA, on the contact page. The contact form is protected against automated spam by Google reCAPTCHA. It loads from Google when that page opens, receives your IP address and information about how you interact with the page, loads its own typeface from Google's font servers, and may set cookies on Google's own domains. We use it because without something of the kind a public contact form fills with junk within days, and we consider it strictly necessary to run the form at all. It is covered by Google's privacy policy as well as ours.

Our typeface. The lettering on this site is served from our own server, not from Google Fonts or any other third party.

Server logs. Our web server records requests, including IP addresses, as every web server does. This is not a cookie and is not used for tracking.

Controlling cookies

Every browser lets you see what has been stored, delete it, and block future cookies, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking cookies on this site will not stop it working, since it does not set any, though blocking Google's may stop the contact form submitting.
